Installations
Reimagined as a garden of the future, vintage quilts evolve into surreal plant-forms/organisms that reflect decades of being genetically altered by chemicals and pollution. This is tomorrow’s garden today. The low maintenance garden requires no soil, no nutrients, no light, and no water. The occasional sunburst quilted design adds a note of depression era cheerfulness. Known as the “Dresden Plate”, the popular pattern is modeled after Germany’s famous Dresden’s Meissen porcelains; that city later destroyed by the Allies during World War II.
